Wadi Rum Protected Area Camp, Jordan
Wadi Rum Visitor Center
On your way into Wadi Rum, you will need to stop at the visitor's center to buy your entrance ticket into the park. It will cost 5 JD per person. We ask all of our guests to call us from the visitor's center so that we may meet you promptly when you arrive in the village (6km after the visitor's center). If you are doing Mohammed's Special Jeep Tour, we will meet you at the visitor's center.
Advice and tips
-
Some Bedouin guides will pretend to be working for the company you tell them you have booked with and promise to bring you to their office in Rum Village, while in reality they will scam you into purchasing another tour. For this reason, you need to communicate with your camp and tour company using mobile telephone to let them know you are arriving in the visitor center to make sure you get the tour and camp you have prior to arrival actually booked. This is a daily problem and many tourists complain to the tourist police about this.

You should buy the entrance ticket for 5 JD yourself from the official ticket office and not let a local Bedouin guide buy it for you as they collect tickets and dont actually give the money to the visitor reception as the should in fact do. Also you will recieve a free tourist map.

If you are a woman the Bedouins may offer you a free tour or heavly discounted tour, but this comes with added risk and we strongly advise against this.

If you do not have cell phone service you may ask your taxi driver to call us, or ask the official ticket office workers to place a call.
